- 延寿派は、山城の来国行の孫、国俊の甥である国村を祖として始まり、その子国吉・国泰をはじめ一門には多くの名工が輩出し、鎌倉時代末より、南北朝期にかけて、肥後国菊池の地で大いに繁栄した。この刀は、反り深く、腰反りつく鎌倉後期の小太刀で、板目肌つみ、杢目肌交じる精良で美しい地鉄に、映りが鮮やに立ち、中直刃に小足・葉入り、金筋掛る頗る健全な名品である。The Enju school was founded by Kunimura, the grandson of Yamashiro's Kuniyuki and the nephew of Kunisuke, and the family produced many master craftsmen, including his children Kuniyasu and Kunisuke, and from the end of the Kamakura period to the Nanbokucho period. Under the protection of the Kikuchi clan, it flourished in Kikuchi, Higo Province.
